Located in a beautiful area, the hiking route to Txangoa offers a picturesque adventure for nature enthusiasts. This out-and-back trail spans approximately 3.99 kilometers and features an elevation gain of 216 meters, making it a relatively easy hike suitable for all skill levels. As you commence your journey, you will encounter various points of interest along the way.
At the beginning of the trail, you will come across the Redoute de Bentarte, an archaeological site that provides a glimpse into the area's historic significance. Further along, you will encounter Mugarrien boundary stones, such as the 205th zenbakia, marking significant points in the region's history. As you trek onwards, you will also pass by Arnoztegiko lepoa, a natural saddle offering stunning views of the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, you will reach a parking area known as Col Arnostéguy, where you can take a break and admire the scenery. Additionally, a water feature at 1.39 kilometers into the trail provides a refreshing spot to rest and refuel.
Towards the end of the route, you will reach the peak of Txangoaendi, offering panoramic views of the landscape. As you make your way back, be sure to stop by the informative spots like the Túmulo Bentarteko Lepoa and Bentarteko lepoa to learn more about the area's history and natural landmarks.
