This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route takes you to the stunning area of Fuente Vega de Aliseda and Canal de Mesones. With a total distance of 14.5 kilometers and an elevation gain of 681 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart.
As you start your journey, you will come across a convenient parking area right at the beginning of the trail. About 2.89 kilometers into the hike, you will find an information point where you can learn more about the surrounding area. Along the way, you will encounter several peaks such as Cabeza del Burro, Mazu Beduyal, and Cabeza la Forma. These peaks offer breathtaking views but are not directly on the trail, so some additional hiking may be required to reach them.
Midway through the hike, at around 5.81 kilometers in, you will come across a saddle, providing a perfect spot to rest and take in the scenery. Keep an eye out for Fuente Gustureru, a spring located about 6.35 kilometers from the start, offering a refreshing stop for hikers.
For those in need of hydration, there are drinking water sources available at various points along the trail, so be sure to refill your water bottles. It's always a good idea to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen on this challenging hike.
