This challenging 10.66-kilometer long hiking route will take you through some breathtaking scenery in the Lago Cortese area. The route starts and ends at Lago Cortese, a picturesque lake that will serve as a tranquil backdrop for your adventure.
As you begin your hike, you will come across the Lago artificiale di Peccia, a man-made lake just 0.24 kilometers from the start. This will be a great spot to take in the surrounding views and maybe snap some photos.
Further along the trail, at around 0.81 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the beautiful waterfall, Pisciòn d'la Muntà. The sound of rushing water and the cool mist from the falls will provide a refreshing break during your journey.
Around the midway point of the hike, at 0.85 kilometers from the start, you will find some historic ruins. Take some time to explore and imagine the stories behind these remnants of the past.
For a rest and a bite to eat, Agriturismo Edelweiss is located just 0.42 kilometers from the start of the trail. Refuel and recharge before continuing on your adventure.
As you make your way back towards Lago Cortese, you will pass by La Guja, a lovely picnic site located just 0.04 kilometers from the start. This will be a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a snack before completing your hike.
Throughout the route, there are also convenient parking areas, a drinking water station, and benches for resting. Remember to bring plenty of water, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before setting out on this difficult but rewarding hike.
