This hiking route takes you through the stunning natural beauty of the area surrounding the Lower Klippensee. With a distance of 19.92 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1497 meters, this trail is designated as extremely difficult, so be prepared for a challenging adventure.
You will start your journey at the Seeleiten Parking Lot (P1) and make your way towards the trail. Along the way, you will encounter the impressive Kleiner Riesachfall waterfall, located just 0.27 kilometers from the start. As you continue on, you will pass by the Gasthof Zum Riesachfall restaurant (0.05 km from start) and the Gföller Alm alpine hut (1.64 km from start), where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Preintalerhütte alpine hut (6.27 km from start), offering a perfect spot to rest and refuel before continuing your journey. Make sure to stay hydrated as you pass by various water sources like Riesachsee (2.43 km from start), the Upper, Middle, and Lower Klippensee lakes (9.00-9.02 km from start), and several other natural water features along the way.
As you approach the end of the trail, you will have the opportunity to visit the Waldhornalm alpine hut (6.3 km from start) and take in the scenic views of the area. Finally, you will arrive back at the starting point, having completed a challenging but rewarding circular hike around the Lower Klippensee.
