This challenging hiking route will take you to the stunning Rocher de Ponce area. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 7.268 kilometers and an elevation gain of 428 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will pass by the parking area at Stationnement des Labays, which is right at the beginning of the trail. After walking for around 2.1 kilometers, you will come across the wilderness hut known as Cabane du Horquèth, where you can take a break and enjoy the serene surroundings.
Continuing on, at around 3.63 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the impressive Rocher de Ponce. This rock formation offers a great spot to take in the breathtaking views of the area. Along the way, you will also encounter informational points like Jalon, Haut de Gradiou, Borde de Gradiou, and Les Labays, providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and history.
To add to the experience, you can explore natural landmarks such as Caillau du Termy, a rock formation located approximately 2.75 kilometers from the start. Make sure to bring enough water and snacks for the trek, as well as check the weather forecast before heading out.
