Welcome to the Gemsenweg hiking route, a challenging 14.786 km circular trail that will take you through stunning alpine landscapes and breathtaking viewpoints. With an elevation gain of 1457 meters, this hike is classified as extremely difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.
Starting at the Parkhaus Lauterbrunnen, you will begin your journey with a gradual ascent through lush forests and meadows. Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest such as the Rail Travel Office and the Wengen Tourismus information center. These are great spots to take a break, learn more about the area, and maybe even grab a bite to eat at Café Gruebi.
As you continue on, you'll pass by the Berghaus Männlichen and the Spycherbar Männlichen, perfect places to refuel and recharge before tackling the more challenging sections of the trail. The Pasta & More Restaurant is another option for a delicious meal with a view.
Midway through the hike, you'll reach the Photopoint Männlichen Grindelwald - Wengen, where you can capture stunning panoramas of the surrounding mountains. From here, the trail becomes more rugged and steep, with rocky terrain and narrow pathways. Be sure to stay hydrated and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
As you make your way back towards the starting point, don't miss the Base Cafe for a well-deserved treat and some relaxation.
