This extremely difficult 14.786-kilometer circular hiking route, known as Gemsenweg, offers breathtaking views and a challenging adventure for seasoned hikers. The trail starts at a parking area at the base of the route and takes you through stunning alpine landscapes with a total elevation gain of 1457 meters.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Rail Travel Office where you can gather information before embarking on your hike. Further along the trail, about 0.86 kilometers from the start, you will come across a shelter where you can take a rest and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
About 2.74 kilometers into the hike, you will find Wengen Tourismus, a great spot to learn more about the area and its attractions. Additionally, at 7.19 kilometers from the start, you can visit Berghaus Männlichen, a cozy restaurant offering a perfect place to refuel before continuing your trek.
As you make your way through the challenging terrain, be sure to take breaks at the various benches and viewpoints along the trail. Keep an eye out for drinking water stations to stay hydrated throughout your hike.
Midway through the route, approximately 7.25 kilometers from the start, you will reach a scenic viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Take some time to soak in the beauty of the Swiss Alps before continuing on.
Towards the end of the route, about 0.04 kilometers from the start, you will find Base Cafe where you can relax and reflect on your hiking experience.
