This extremely difficult hiking route takes you through a challenging 12.832-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 1394 meters. The trail is an out-and-back type, leading you to the destination of Petz - Monte Pez.
Starting off, you will find a parking area at the beginning of the trail, making it convenient for you to park your vehicle and start your adventure. As you journey along the path, approximately 1.3 kilometers from the start, you will come across the picturesque picnic site named Tomleg, offering a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy a meal surrounded by nature.
Further along the trail, at 2.94 kilometers in, you will find the Schlernbödele Hütte - Rifugio Malghetta Sciliar alpine hut, providing you with a cozy accommodation option if you wish to stay overnight and continue your hike the next day.
Continuing on, at around 5.78 kilometers into the route, you will reach the Schlernhaus - Rifugio Bolzano alpine hut, offering another accommodation option for hikers looking to extend their journey.
Midway through the trail, at 6.42 kilometers, you will reach the viewpoint and peak known as Petz - Monte Pez. This spot offers breathtaking views that are worth the challenging hike.
