This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Peña de la Cabra. The trail is 8.087 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of 180 meters, making it a difficult hike that is best suited for experienced hikers.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by a parking area at the trailhead. It is important to note that there are two parking areas at the start of the trail, allowing for easy access to the starting point. About 1.76 kilometers into the hike, you will come across a shelter where you can take a break and rest before continuing on.
As you trek further along the trail, you will encounter a natural spring at a distance of 2.8 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to refill your water bottle and take in the serene surroundings. Continuing on, you will reach a saddle known as Puerto de la Puebla at the 3.63 kilometer mark, offering panoramic views of the area.
The trail will lead you past several peaks, including Cerro Portezuela and other unnamed peaks, each offering unique vantage points and photo opportunities. At about 2.48 kilometers into the hike, you will reach another saddle before ascending to higher peaks towards the latter part of the trail.
It is essential to bring an ample water supply, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike. The circular route will lead you back to your starting point, giving you a sense of accomplishment as you take in the stunning views of Peña de la Cabra and the surrounding area.
