This challenging hiking route will take you through the stunning landscape of Peña Labanto. The trail spans approximately 7.24 kilometers with an elevation gain of 327 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
As you start your journey, you will come across a convenient parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way, you will pass by several natural landmarks, including peaks like Peña Parda, Pico Albirigaño, and Peña Labanto. These peaks offer breathtaking views and are perfect spots to take a break and appreciate the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, you will encounter Collado de Peña Parda and Collado de Matalinares, two saddle points that provide a change in scenery and a chance to catch your breath. Remember to stay hydrated, and luckily, there are drinking water sources available along the trail, located around the 23-kilometer mark.
Towards the end of the route, you will find a refreshing fountain at a distance of 25 kilometers from the start, providing a cool respite before you head back the way you came.
