This extremely difficult 14.792 km circular hiking route in the Riedli area offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for seasoned hikers. The route, with an elevation gain of 1164 meters, will take approximately 6 hours and 20 minutes to complete.
The trail starts at a parking area just 0.02 km from the beginning of the route. As you make your way along the path, you will come across various points of interest. About 3.07 km into the hike, you'll find the Alphittli Gummen restaurant, perfect for a pit stop to refuel and refresh.
Midway through the journey, at 6.82 km from the start, you'll reach the Planplatten peak, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Further along, at 3.19 km from the beginning, there is a picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy a meal in nature.
Throughout the hike, you'll also encounter several benches and information points providing insights into the area's history and geology. It's recommended to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, as well as to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging adventure.
As you approach the end of the trail, be sure to take in the beauty of the Gummen Renen area, located 3.49 km from the start. Finally, as you complete the loop, you'll find yourself back at the parking area, having conquered the demanding Riedli hike.
