This extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the stunning Testa di Malacosta / Tête de Malacoste peak.
The 12.411 kilometers long trail has an elevation gain of 1347.0 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding adventure.
Starting at the parking area, you will pass by a shelter (Capanno) located 1.89 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, at 0.67 kilometers, you will come across the ruins of Opera Vallo Alpino. Another point of interest, the Fontana (drinking water), is situated right at the start of the trail, allowing you to refill your water supply before the journey ahead.
As you make your way towards the peak, you will encounter informative signposts (information) at 1.04 kilometers and 1.22 kilometers into the hike. These provide valuable insights into the area's history and wildlife. Additionally, you will pass by more ruins of the Opera Vallo Alpino at 1.26 kilometers.
At the midway point of 5.82 kilometers, you will reach the Col de Malacoste / Colle di Malacosta saddle, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Finally, after a challenging ascent, you will reach the peak of Testa di Malacosta / Tête de Malacoste at 6.21 kilometers.
