This hiking route takes you through the beautiful and challenging terrain of Sentiero Dino Icardi. With a distance of 15.821 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1102 meters, this route is classified as extremely difficult, so be prepared for a strenuous hike.
Starting at Parcheggio per Rocca Croce Provenzale, you will begin your journey through the picturesque surroundings. Along the way, you will encounter various points of interest such as Lago Niera at 4.61 kilometers from the start, where you can take in the serene beauty of the lake.
As you continue on, you will come across Rifugio Campo Base at 0.65 kilometers from the start, a historic alpine hut where you can rest and refuel before continuing your trek. Further ahead, at 4.11 kilometers from the start, you'll find Rifugio Stroppia, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy some accommodation services.
For water supply, there are several points along the trail, including a water source at 1.39 kilometers from the start, and another at 7.91 kilometers from the start. Make sure to refill your water bottles whenever you have the chance.
As you make your way back, don't miss out on the Cascate di Stroppia waterfall at 4.57 kilometers from the start, a breathtaking sight to behold.
