This extremely difficult 12.338-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Tapenkopf peak. The trail begins at a parking area located at the start of the route. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks for this strenuous hike, as you'll be gaining 998 meters in elevation throughout the journey.
As you start your hike, you'll come across a water source at around 5.25 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a good spot to rest and replenish your water supply before continuing on. Further along the trail, at the 5.6-kilometer mark, you'll encounter another water source followed by two more at 5.68 kilometers and 4.23 kilometers respectively.
Midway through the hike, at 6.17 kilometers, you'll reach the Tapenkopf peak, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.
