Welcome to the Pölstal hiking route, a challenging 13.6-kilometer circular trail that offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way. The route begins at the trailhead, where you'll find convenient parking facilities to leave your vehicle before starting the hike. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as this extremely difficult trail will take you approximately 4 hours and 26 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you'll come across the Kirchenwirt restaurant, located just 0.06 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to grab a meal or a quick snack before continuing on. Further along the route, you'll encounter a shelter called St. Johann am Tauern Ortsmitte, perfect for a rest break and enjoying the surroundings.

Throughout the hike, you'll also pass by several water sources, providing opportunities to refill your water bottles and stay hydrated. One of these water points is approximately 6.58 kilometers into the trail, while others are scattered along the way.

Along with natural amenities, the route also includes some cultural points of interest, such as the Gasthaus Kai Bauer restaurant near the trailhead. Take in the local hospitality and perhaps indulge in some traditional Austrian cuisine before or after your adventure.

Remember to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike, as the trail's elevation gain of 511 meters can present additional difficulties in adverse conditions.
