This challenging hiking route in the Kettentalalm area covers a distance of 9.178 kilometers with an elevation gain of 887 meters, taking approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes to complete. The route is an out-and-back trail, leading you through some of the most stunning alpine landscapes in the region.
At the beginning of the trail, you will pass by the Bergerhube restaurant, where you can fuel up before starting your journey. Along the way, you will come across several points of interest, including parking areas, information points, drinking water sources, benches, and even an alpine hut for those looking to stay overnight.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Kettentörl saddle, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. From here, you can continue on to the Kettentalkogel peak, although this section of the trail is not directly on the main route.
As you make your way back, be sure to stop by the Bergerhube restaurant again to rest and refuel before completing the hike. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before setting out on this challenging adventure.
