This hiking route takes you through the beautiful Hochplatte area, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is circular, covering a distance of 10.449 kilometers with an elevation gain of 922 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 43 minutes to complete.
As you begin your hike, you will come across the Ammerwald-Alm restaurant, a great spot to grab a meal before hitting the trail. About 5.16 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the peak of Hochplatte, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to take a moment to enjoy the scenery before continuing on.
Midway through the hike, you'll pass by Roggentalsattel, a picturesque saddle in the natural surroundings. As you make your way back, you'll encounter the Fensterl saddle and Hochplatte Ostgipfel, perfect spots to take a break and soak in the beauty of the area.
