Starting at the parking area, you will begin your journey towards the Ammergauer Kreuzspitz peak. At the beginning of the trail, you will come across the Weiser für 317 boundary stone, marking the entrance to this beautiful area. As you continue onwards, you will pass by the historic ruins of Hundinghütte, adding a touch of ancient charm to your hike.
Midway through the route, you will encounter the Schwarzenköpfel peak, where you can take a moment to admire the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a perfect spot to rest and refuel before pushing on towards your final destination.
As you near the end of the hike, you will reach the Ammergauer Kreuzspitz peak itself. Standing tall at 5.5 kilometers from the start, this natural wonder offers a rewarding sense of accomplishment and a stunning vantage point to soak in the beauty of the Alps.
With an elevation gain of 1052 meters, this trail is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, as well as to check the weather forecast before embarking on your journey.
