Located in a stunning natural setting, this extremely difficult 15.492-kilometer circular hike offers breathtaking views and challenging terrain for experienced hikers. The route includes a total elevation gain of 838 meters and will take approximately 5 hours and 40 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will pass by a parking area before reaching the picturesque Col de Couraduque, located 0.13 kilometers from the start. This scenic spot offers a perfect place to take in the surrounding beauty before continuing on the trail.
As you venture further along the path, you'll come across Le Couraduque restaurant, situated 0.09 kilometers from the start, where you can refuel and rest before tackling the next section of the hike.
Midway through the route, at 7.59 kilometers from the start, hikers will reach the peak of Soum de Granquet, offering panoramic views of the landscape below. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the rewards of your uphill climb.
On the way back, be sure to stop by Refuge du Haugarou, located 2.52 kilometers from the start, where you can relax and refuel with a meal or stay overnight in the alpine hut.
