This extremely difficult 14.589 km out-and-back hiking route will take you through the breathtaking alpine scenery of the area. The trail starts at the parking area near Lago Cernello, where you can admire the crystal-clear waters of the lake before beginning your ascent.
As you make your way along the trail, you'll pass by several points of interest. About 3.38 km from the start, you'll come across the picturesque Lago Sucotto, a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the surrounding views. Further along the trail, at around 5.6 km, you'll reach Passo di Portula, a stunning saddle offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
At the midpoint of the hike, approximately 7.29 km from the start, you'll find Rifugio Fratelli Calvi, where you can rest and refuel before continuing on your journey. This alpine hut is open continuously from June to September, and on select days in May, October, and November.
