This challenging 9.5-kilometer hike will take you approximately 3 hours and 42 minutes to complete, with an elevation gain of 600 meters. The route is an out-and-back trail that leads to the stunning Lac Riondet in the area.
Starting off at the Parking fort de Platte, you will make your way towards the Fort de la Platte, a historic fort located just 0.69 kilometers from the starting point. As you continue on the trail, you will pass by the Col de Forclaz, a natural saddle point that sits 3.83 kilometers from the beginning of the hike.
Along the way, you will encounter several water features, including a water source at 3.29 kilometers and the beautiful Lac Riondet at 4.77 kilometers. Take a moment to admire the serene surroundings and perhaps enjoy a picnic by the lake before heading back.
