This hiking route in the Quepo area is an extremely difficult 15.8-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 358 meters. The hike is expected to take around 4 hours and 33 minutes to complete.
Along the trail, hikers will come across various points of interest.
- At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Universidad Autónoma de Chile (sede Talca) parking area.
- Midway through the hike, at 7.9 kilometers from the start, there is a water source.
- Around 1.69 kilometers from the start, there is a viewpoint called Mirador del bosque.
- Visitors can also find multiple BBQ spots and restaurants along the trail for a quick snack or meal.
Additionally, at a distance of 4.13 kilometers from the start, hikers can visit the Virgen del Carmen monument and enjoy panoramic views from the Mirador Cerro La Virgen viewpoint.
