This hiking route to Pico de la Pez offers a challenging trek through stunning natural landscapes. With a total distance of 15.07 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1771 meters, this trail is classified as extremely difficult, suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will come across the Cabane de La Pez after covering 2.27 kilometers. This shelter provides a resting spot for tired hikers along the way. Continuing on, at about 1.99 kilometers into the hike, you will find the Cabane Jean-Forgues, another shelter for hikers to take a break.
As you progress further along the trail, you will encounter the Port de la Pez at approximately 5.81 kilometers from the start. This natural saddle offers panoramic views and a great spot for photo opportunities. The trail then leads you to the peak of Pico Puerto de la Pez, located at 7.44 kilometers, and finally to the summit of Pico de la Pez at 7.54 kilometers.
