Welcome to the Lower Apfelskopf Trail in Heidelberg! This super easy 1.7 kilometer circular route offers a leisurely hike with a total elevation gain of 43 meters, making it perfect for all skill levels.
Starting at the parking area, you will meander through the lush greenery of the area, passing by benches where you can take a moment to rest and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Around 0.6 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the Sengesselloch information point, where you can learn more about the local flora and fauna.
As you continue on, you'll encounter two picturesque viewpoints - perfect spots to snap some photos of the breathtaking scenery. Midway through the trail, around 0.79 kilometers in, you'll reach the Grenzstein CP 1790 attraction, adding a touch of history to your nature walk.
Near the end of the trail, at around 0.12 kilometers from the start, you'll find another parking area, providing convenient access to the trailhead. Additionally, there are water sources along the route, so be sure to bring a refillable bottle to stay hydrated.
