This difficult 9.832-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the stunning Hochstarzel area. The trail boasts an elevation gain of 721 meters and is estimated to take around 4 hours to complete. Before embarking on this adventure, make sure to check the weather forecast and bring an adequate water supply.

As you begin your journey, you will come across various points of interest. Approximately 0.39 kilometers from the start, you will find Gaststätte Starzelhaus, a cozy restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat. Further along, at around 2.25 kilometers from the start, Mittlere Spitalalpe will offer you another dining option with its opening hours during the Weidesaison.

For those interested in climbing, approximately 0.25 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Übungsgelände der Outward Bound Kurzschule Baad. Additionally, there are several parking areas along the trail to leave your vehicle, with some having fees associated with them.

As you make your way through the route, you'll encounter informative spots such as the Obere Spitalalpe at 3.2 kilometers from the start and Derrenjoch at 4.08 kilometers from the start. These provide a great opportunity to learn more about the surrounding nature and history of the area.

Throughout the hike, benches are available for a brief rest, with some located at picturesque spots such as at 0.88 kilometers from the start and 0.61 kilometers from the start.
