This challenging circular hiking route takes you through the picturesque area surrounding Hochstarzel. With a total distance of 9.832 kilometers and an elevation gain of 721 meters, this hike will provide both a physical challenge and stunning views.

Starting off at the trailhead, you'll come across several points of interest along the way. About 0.39 kilometers into the hike, you'll find Gaststätte Starzelhaus, a cozy restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat. Further along at 2.25 kilometers, you'll reach Mittlere Spitalalpe, another restaurant where you can refuel.

For those interested in climbing, the Übungsgelände der Outward Bound Kurzschule Baad is located 0.25 kilometers from the start of the trail. Parking facilities can be found at various points along the route, including at the 0.03-kilometer mark and the 0.07-kilometer mark.

As you continue on, you'll pass by information points, benches for resting, and historical sites such as wayside crosses. The Derrenjoch saddle, located at the 4.08-kilometer mark, offers a unique natural feature to explore.
