This extremely difficult 13.721 km out-and-back hiking route in Ainet offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for avid hikers. The trail boasts an elevation gain of 1476 meters and a duration of approximately 6 hours and 51 minutes.
The hike begins at Parkplatz Hochschoberhütte, a free parking area located right at the start of the trail. As you venture along the path, you will come across various points of interest. At around 3.07 km from the start, you will encounter a historic wayside cross known as Kreuz, adding a cultural element to your journey.
Further along the trail, at approximately 5.19 km from the start, you will reach Schoberlacke, a natural water feature where you can take a moment to rest and enjoy the serene surroundings. As you continue, you will also pass by Sophien Brundl, a drinking water source located at around 3.8 km from the beginning, ensuring you stay hydrated throughout your trek.
