This hiking route will take you to the Christmas Lookout in the beautiful area surrounding Lake Wombat. The total distance of the route is 10.833 kilometers with an elevation gain of 661 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 9 minutes to complete.
Starting at the Alex Knob Carpark, you will begin your journey towards the Christmas Lookout. Along the way, you will pass by Lake Wombat at 1.95 kilometers from the start, where you can take in the serene views of the water. At 1.92 kilometers from the start, there is a bench where you can rest and enjoy a snack.
As you continue on the trail, you will reach the Christmas Lookout at 5.42 kilometers from the start, where you can marvel at the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, at 1.41 kilometers from the start, there is an information point near Lake Wombat where you can learn more about the area.
On the way back, be sure to stop by Rata Lookout at 3.98 kilometers from the start, offering another vantage point to admire the scenery.
