Located in a picturesque area, the hike to Louisa Peak is known for its stunning views and challenging terrain. With a total distance of 13.824 kilometers and an elevation gain of 938 meters, this route is classified as extremely difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.

Starting at Alex Knob Carpark, you will begin your journey on this out-and-back trail. As you make your way along the path, you will come across various points of interest. Around 1.95 kilometers from the start, you will find Lake Wombat, a peaceful water body perfect for a short break.

Continuing onwards, at 6.91 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Louisa Peak, a notable peak along the trail offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take in the scenery and capture some memorable photos.

As you near the end of the trail, approximately 5.42 kilometers from the start, you will encounter Christmas Lookout, a popular viewpoint that provides a different perspective of the area. Additionally, at 1.41 kilometers from the start, you will find an information point about Lake Wombat for those interested in learning more about the local ecosystem.

Finally, at 3.98 kilometers from the start, Rata Lookout offers another opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the region before heading back along the same path.
