This challenging hiking route takes you to the stunning Monte Rocca Canali area. The trail is an out-and-back type, covering a distance of 11.246 kilometers with an elevation gain of 510 meters. It's estimated to take around 3 hours and 52 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you'll come across a convenient parking area, just 6.9 meters away from the trailhead. About 5 kilometers into the hike, you'll find the picturesque Fontanile Canai fountain, perfect for a refreshing break.
Further along, at around 5.6 kilometers in, you'll reach the Rifugio dell'Orso alpine hut. While not directly on the trail, it's a worthwhile detour for those looking to rest and enjoy some snacks. Close by, at a distance of just 0.03 kilometers from the trail, is the Capanna Maguccio wilderness hut, offering a rustic overnight accommodation option.
Stay hydrated along the way with drinking water available at the 25.9 meter mark on the trail, as well as the Fontana Santa Serena spring located nearby. Don't miss the captivating views at the viewpoint 1.28 kilometers in.
Reaching the highlight of the hike, the Monte Rocca Canali peak, located right on the trail at 5.62 kilometers, promises breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area.
For a peaceful pause or a picnic spot, there are two designated picnic sites at the beginning of the trail and 0.03 kilometers before your final destination. Additionally, a refreshing spring can be found at the 3.21-kilometer mark.
