Located in the beautiful Louesque region, this challenging hiking route spans a distance of 9.134 kilometers with an elevation gain of 935 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding adventure for experienced hikers. Before embarking on this journey, ensure to bring an ample supply of water and check the weather forecast, as conditions can vary.
Starting at P4 Parking Anglas, the trail leads you through picturesque landscapes, with the first notable point of interest being Lac de Louesque at 4.13 kilometers from the start. This serene lake offers a perfect spot to rest and take in the surrounding natural beauty. As you continue your trek, you will come across Cardet parking and several water sources along the way.
Around 1.59 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter historic ruins, adding a touch of mystery to the excursion. Further along the trail at 1.92 kilometers, Cabane de la Coste de Goua shelter provides a cozy refuge for hikers seeking a break.
As you push forward, you'll reach Cascade de Louesque, a captivating waterfall located 3.82 kilometers from the start. Take a moment to admire the cascading waters before resuming your journey. Additional points of interest such as Pène Médaa bar and various benches and picnic sites are scattered throughout the route, offering opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Completing the out-and-back route will lead you back to the starting point, leaving you with a sense of accomplishment and a deeper connection to the natural wonders of the Louesque region.
