This challenging out-and-back hiking route takes you to the stunning Lac de Louesque in the picturesque area of Bearn. The trail spans a distance of 8.248 kilometers and involves an elevation gain of 900 meters, making it a difficult yet rewarding journey.
As you start your hike, you'll come across the P4 Parking Anglas, where you can leave your vehicle before setting off on the trail. About 4.12 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the beautiful Lac de Louesque, a tranquil spot perfect for a rest and enjoying the scenery.
Along the way, you'll also encounter the historic ruins of Cardet, offering a glimpse into the past. The Cabane de la Coste de Goua provides a sheltered spot for hikers to take a break, located approximately 1.92 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Make sure to stop by the Cascade de Louesque, a picturesque waterfall located around 3.82 kilometers into the hike. Additionally, there are various water sources along the trail, such as streams and lakes, to replenish your water supply.
Throughout the hike, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery. Don't forget to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, as well as checking the weather forecast before heading out on this adventure.
