This challenging hiking route takes you to the stunning Punta Acuta area. The trail covers a distance of 10.348 kilometers with an elevation gain of 908 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding adventure. It is recommended to allocate around 4 hours and 40 minutes for the round trip.
Starting at the trailhead, you will quickly come across the Ristorante Pizzeria Aquila, where you can grab a bite before continuing your journey. As you venture further, you will reach Rifugio Mitt, an alpine hut located 2.42 kilometers from the beginning of the trail, providing a great spot to rest and take in the surrounding beauty.
Midway through the hike, at a distance of 4.4 kilometers from the starting point, you will find the striking peak known as Punta dell'Aquila. The views from this vantage point are truly breathtaking and worth the effort it takes to get there. Another noteworthy peak, Punta Acuta, awaits you at the end of the trail at a distance of 5.17 kilometers from the start, offering panoramic views that will leave you in awe.
Along the way, you may also encounter Bivacco 3° Alpini, an alpine hut located 4.02 kilometers from the start, providing shelter for weary hikers. As you make your way back, don't forget to check out the historic monument, Aquila, situated just 0.05 kilometers from the trail.
