This hiking route will take you to the stunning Pico de la Magdalena area, offering breathtaking views and a challenging adventure. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 11.122 kilometers and an elevation gain of 790 meters, making it a difficult hike suitable for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will pass by La Cleta parking area, which serves as the trailhead for this route. Around 0.6 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Refugio de Saleras shelter, providing a resting spot for hikers. Further along the trail, at around 1.85 kilometers from the start, you will encounter a refreshing spring known as the Dolmen Spring.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 3.86 kilometers from the start, you will reach Collado de la Magdalena o del Torbillón, a saddle offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Continuing on, you will find informative spots such as Rita del Puerto de Aísa and various other information signposts along the way, providing insight into the area's history and natural features.
Towards the end of the trail, at around 5.56 kilometers from the start, you will finally reach the highlight of the hike, Pico de la Magdalena peak. Take in the rewarding views from the summit before heading back the way you came.
