Located in the picturesque Pyrenees mountain range, this challenging hiking route will take you on a 6.1-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 564 meters. The trail starts at the Estación de Esquí Astún parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this adventure.
As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across several points of interest. About 0.5 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a cozy cafe where you can grab a quick bite to eat and refuel for the journey ahead. Continuing on, at around 2.3 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter the breathtaking Ibón de Escalar, a beautiful glacial lake that offers a perfect spot to rest and take in the stunning alpine views.
Further along the route, at approximately 2.9 kilometers from the start, you'll reach a tranquil water source, providing a refreshing opportunity to refill your water bottles. As you trek onwards, you'll pass by the Col d'Audas saddle at 2.88 kilometers from the start, offering a unique vantage point of the surrounding landscape.
Towards the end of the trail, at around 3.05 kilometers from the start, you'll have the chance to summit the peaks of Nayeta and Naiso, offering panoramic views of the mountainous terrain. Finally, you'll reach the Collado de Nayeta saddle, marking the turnaround point of the hike before heading back to the starting point.
Due to the length and elevation gain of this route, it is categorized as difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. Additionally, be sure to check the weather forecast before setting out, as conditions in the mountains can change rapidly.
