This challenging circular hiking route will take you through the stunning area of Gran Molondrio. The trail covers a distance of 7.695 kilometers with an elevation gain of 554 meters, making it a difficult yet rewarding trek.
Starting off, you will find parking areas at Cantocochino, which is located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way along the path, you will come across a Punto de Información de Canto Cochino, where you can gather some interesting insights about the area.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Refugio Giner de los Ríos, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the scenic views. For sustenance, Casa Torrero and Mesón del Montañero are restaurants located along the trail to refuel and recharge.
Along the way, you will encounter various peaks such as Cancho Buitrón and El Pájaro, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to visit Fuente de Pedro Acuña, a natural spring, to quench your thirst.
As you approach the end of the trail, you will pass by La Calavera, El Normando, and El Platillo Volante, unique rock formations that add character to the hike. Finally, you will arrive back at Gran Molondrio, your starting point and destination.
