Welcome to the Senda Maeso hiking route!
This challenging circular trail covers a distance of 8.437 kilometers with an elevation gain of 619 meters, taking approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete. The trail starts and ends at the parking area of "Casa Julián", where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this adventure.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by "Hotel El Tranco" and "El Jardón de las Delicias" restaurants, perfect spots to grab a meal before or after your hike. Along the way, you will encounter various natural landmarks such as "Fuente de la Gran Cañada" spring and "Fuente del Risco de la Fuente" spring, offering refreshing stops to rest and replenish your water supply.
Midway through the trail, you will reach "Collado de la Encina" saddle, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Be sure to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the Canchal de Manzanares rock formation before continuing your journey.
Throughout the route, you will come across several peaks, including "El Reloj", "Las Tres Gracias", and "El Castillo", each offering a unique vantage point of the area. Keep an eye out for informational signs along the trail, providing interesting facts about the local flora, fauna, and geological formations.
