This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area of Cabane Militaire on the Route de l'Au d'Arbignon. The trail is an out-and-back type, totaling 9.598 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1054 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 51 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area, situated right at the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, at around 0.64 kilometers from the start, you will come across an information point where you can learn more about the area. Further along the trail, at 1.82 kilometers, you will reach Cabane de la Tourche, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
Midway through the hike, at 3.36 kilometers from the start, you will reach Col des Perris Blancs, a saddle offering stunning views of the landscape. As you trek on, at 4.01 kilometers, you will encounter Cabane Militaire, a historic ruins site that adds a touch of intrigue to the journey.
Continuing on the trail, at 4.54 kilometers from the start, you will arrive at Col des Martinets, another saddle providing a picturesque vantage point. Nearby, at 4.01 kilometers, you can also visit Pointe des Martinets, a natural peak that offers panoramic views of the surroundings.
Towards the end of the hike, at 4.8 kilometers from the start, you will pass by a natural rock formation, adding to the allure of the route.
