This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you through the stunning mountainous area surrounding Tuc Arrouy. The trail covers a distance of 13.032 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1029 meters, making it a challenging yet rewarding trek for experienced hikers.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by the tranquil Lac Noir, located 3.59 kilometers from the starting point. This picturesque lake provides a peaceful setting to rest and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Moving along the trail, approximately 4.08 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Refuge d'Ilhéou, an alpine hut offering a place to shelter and refuel before continuing your adventure.
Further ahead, about 6.15 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the Col d'Haugade Inférieur, a natural saddle point that offers breathtaking views of the rugged landscape. As you push forward, at the 6.44-kilometer mark, you will reach the Col de Haugade Supérieur, another impressive saddle on the route.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 3.01 kilometers from the start, you will find the stunning Cascade d'Ilhéou, a waterfall that adds to the enchanting scenery of the area. Finally, reaching the Tuc Arrouy peak at 6.52 kilometers from the start, you will be rewarded with sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
