The hiking route to Hehmatten is a challenging 9.382-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 1085 meters, taking approximately 4 hours and 53 minutes to complete. The trail begins at Rütti campsite and parking area, where you can top up your water bottles before setting off. As you start the hike, you'll come across a shelter about 1.33 kilometers from the start, providing a nice resting spot.

Further along the trail at 4.38 kilometers, you will find the Stägerstübli restaurant to refuel and grab a bite to eat. As you continue, you'll encounter the majestic Sefinenfall waterfall at around 0.57 kilometers from the start, offering a picturesque spot for photos.
