This extremely difficult 13-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the stunning Tête de la Vieille peak in the beautiful area of Le Grand Clot.
As you start your journey, you'll come across the parking area at Le Grand Clot, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the trail. Around 2.23 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter an information center that provides helpful insights about the region. Further along at 2.17 kilometers, you'll reach Les Portes de Morgon, another informative stop to learn more about the surroundings.
When you're 0.73 kilometers in, be sure to take a break at one of the breathtaking viewpoints that offer panoramic vistas of the landscape. Another viewpoint awaits you at 0.48 kilometers, providing even more stunning views to admire.
Midway through the hike at 4.38 kilometers, you will reach a saddle point, offering a brief respite before continuing the ascent towards Tête de la Vieille. At 6.38 kilometers, the peak itself awaits, rewarding you with expansive views that make the challenging journey worthwhile.
Throughout the hike, you may also encounter various springs providing refreshment along the way, such as the Source Deillières at 2.17 kilometers.
Due to the length and elevation gain of this route, it's important to bring an adequate water supply, wear proper hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before setting out. With the right preparation, you'll be able to fully enjoy the rugged beauty of the Tête de la Vieille hiking trail.
