This hiking route takes you through the stunning area around Pic du Col Taillat. The trail is 12.744 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1135 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area right at the beginning. About 5.23 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Cabane pastorale du Col de Sasc, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and admire the surrounding views. Continuing on, at 4.66 kilometers from the start, you will reach Pla de Montcamp, a peak that offers a great vantage point.

As you make your way towards the turnaround point, you will pass by the Col de Gamel saddle at 1.79 kilometers from the start. Finally, at 6.37 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Pic du Col Taillat peak, the destination of your journey. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area at the Belvédère de Guestier viewpoint located 0.11 kilometers away.

It's important to note that the Cabane du Besset du Haut - Ax les Thermes shelter is located 5.34 kilometers from the start, but it is off the trail.
