This hiking route will take you through a challenging but rewarding journey in the beautiful mountainous area surrounding Pic du Col Taillat. With a total distance of 12.744 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1135 meters, this is considered an extremely difficult trail that will test your endurance and hiking skills.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across the Belvédère de Guestier, a picturesque viewpoint located just 0.11 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to catch your breath and take in the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
As you continue on the trail, you will pass by the parking area at the beginning of the route before reaching the Col de Gamel, a scenic saddle point located 1.79 kilometers from the start. This is a good place to take a break and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Further along the trail, at the 4.66 kilometers mark, you will find the Pla de Montcamp, a peak that offers magnificent views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to stop for a snack and soak in the stunning vistas.
Midway through the hike, at 5.23 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Cabane pastorale du Col de Sasc, a wilderness hut where you can rest and refuel before continuing on your journey.
Towards the end of the route, at 6.37 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Pic du Col Taillat, the final destination of the hike. This peak offers breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment as you take in the stunning scenery from the top.
