This extremely difficult circular hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Tête de la Malcôte. The total distance of the hike is approximately 12.7 kilometers with an elevation gain of 178 meters, so be prepared for a challenging adventure.

As you start your journey, you will come across the Col du Donon, a saddle located just 0.09 kilometers from the trail. Further along the route at 0.12 kilometers, you will find Le Velleda restaurant, where you can stop for a meal or refreshments. There are several parking areas along the trail, with the closest one being at the beginning of the hike.

As you continue on, you will pass by the Source Sarre Rouge spring at 4.49 kilometers from the start, and the Ancien Cimetière Militaire Allemand WW2 memorial at 4.08 kilometers. You will also encounter the Borne Frontière Alsace-Lorraine boundary stone and various benches for resting along the way.

Midway through the hike, at 3.45 kilometers, you will reach the Col de la Côte de l'Engin saddle, offering stunning views of the surroundings. The Tête de la Malcôte peak awaits you at 6.21 kilometers from the start, a rewarding destination with breathtaking panoramic views.
