This hiking route will take you to the stunning Pic d'Ardiden, offering magnificent views along the way. The trail spans a distance of approximately 16.3 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1565 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that requires a good level of fitness.
You will start your journey at La Fruitière, where you can find parking facilities. From there, you will make your way towards Refuge Russel, a wilderness hut located about 5.5 kilometers from the start of the trail. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the surrounding wilderness.
Continuing on, you will reach Cabane de Pouey Caut, another wilderness hut situated approximately 2.9 kilometers from the start. This is a good place to rest and refuel before heading towards the main attraction, Pic d'Ardiden.
As you make your way towards the peak, you will pass by Hôtellerie de la Fruitière, a cafe located just 90 meters from the start of the trail, and Hôtellerie de la Fruitière, a restaurant situated about 100 meters from the start. These are great options for a meal or a drink before or after your hike.
Finally, you will reach Pic d'Ardiden, a majestic peak offering breathtaking panoramic views. Take your time to soak in the beauty of the surroundings before retracing your steps back to the starting point.
