This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route to Rabenkopf spans a distance of 26.372 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1263.0 meters, taking approximately 9 hours and 15 minutes to complete.
The hike starts in a picturesque area surrounded by natural beauty. Along the way, hikers will encounter various points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, there is a water source just 0.05 kilometers from the start, allowing hikers to refill their water bottles. Additionally, a parking area is conveniently located right at the start of the trail for easy access.
As hikers progress along the route, they will come across several more water sources at different distances from the trail, providing opportunities to rest and hydrate. Along the way, there are also benches and a shelter for hikers to take a break and enjoy the scenic views.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 12.12 kilometers from the start, hikers will reach Sommertörl, a notable saddle along the trail. This is a great spot to pause and take in the surrounding landscape.
Further along the trail, at around 13.19 kilometers from the start, hikers will encounter Lamperbichlkogel and Rabenkopf peaks, offering stunning panoramic views as a rewarding endpoint for the hike.
Due to the length and elevation gain of the route, hikers are advised to be well-prepared with proper hiking gear, including sturdy footwear, plenty of water, snacks, and sun protection. It is also recommended to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging journey to Rabenkopf.
