This challenging 11.224-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Monte Viglio. The hike boasts an elevation gain of 1068 meters and is estimated to take around 5 hours and 16 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area conveniently located right at the trailhead. Make sure to have plenty of water with you as the trail winds its way through the picturesque landscape. About 5.07 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the iconic Monte Viglio, a peak with a wayside cross that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Further along the trail, at the same distance from the start, you will find the historic Madonnina wayside shrine. Take a moment to appreciate the cultural significance of this site before continuing on your adventure. Additionally, at 0.21 kilometers from the start, you will encounter Fontanile, a drinking water source where you can refill your water bottle.
As you approach the 1.51-kilometer mark, you will pass by the Colle Albaneti picnic site, perfect for taking a well-deserved break and enjoying a snack amidst nature's beauty. Keep an eye out for the Cippo boundary stone located at 4.91 kilometers from the start, which marks a historical point along the trail.
For a refreshing stop, check out Fontanile Casale spring at 0.96 kilometers from the start, providing a natural source of water along your journey.
