This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area of Cammino della Montagna, offering stunning views and a challenging trek. With a total distance of nearly 7 kilometers and an elevation gain of 539 meters, this route is classified as difficult, so be prepared for a strenuous hike.
As you start your journey, you'll come across a convenient parking area to leave your vehicle, located right at the beginning of the trail. About 100 meters into the hike, you'll find the Fontana spring where you can refill your water bottle and stay hydrated.
Continuing along the trail, at around the 3.5 kilometer mark, you'll reach a breathtaking viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take a break, snap some photos, and appreciate the beauty of the area.
Around the midway point of the hike, at approximately 1.37 kilometers from the start, you'll come across La Tappa, a restaurant where you can grab a meal or snack to fuel up for the rest of the journey.
As you make your way back, be sure to stop by the Fountain spring, located at the 0.01-kilometer mark from the start, to rest and replenish your water supply.
Throughout the route, you may also encounter various points of interest, including the Pilone del Villar historic wayside shrine, informational signage about the Sentiero dei Ciclamini, and the Macra fountain. These sites offer insight into the cultural and historical significance of the area.
