This extremely difficult hiking route takes you through the stunning landscape of the Archäologischer Wanderweg in Italy. With a total distance of 13.467 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1160 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart.

Starting at the trailhead, you will first come across the Almhotel Glieshof, a cozy restaurant where you can fuel up before beginning your journey. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by several crystal-clear water sources such as Saldurseen, offering a refreshing break along the way.

About halfway through the hike, you will reach the Innere Matscher Alm, a picturesque picnic site where you can relax and enjoy the stunning views. Further along the trail, you will find drinking water stations and information points to enhance your hiking experience.

For history enthusiasts, a wayside cross and a historic wayside cross are located along the trail, providing a glimpse into the past. If you're up for a challenge, you can venture off the trail to reach the peak of Unterer Saldurkopf.

As this is an out-and-back route, you will retrace your steps on the way back, giving you a chance to appreciate the beauty of the landscape from a different perspective. It's important to note that this hike is extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain, so make sure to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and sturdy hiking gear.
