Welcome to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historical and geological significance. This hiking route is super easy and covers a distance of 0.886 kilometers with an elevation gain of 34 meters, making it suitable for hikers of all levels.

Starting at the P5 Valhöll parking area, you will first pass by the Þingvellir Visitor Centre about 0.38 kilometers into the hike. Here, you can learn more about the park's history and facilities. As you continue on the trail, you will come across the Flekaskilin viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Don't forget to stop at the picnic site for a quick break about 0.04 kilometers from the start.

Further along the route, at around 0.44 kilometers, you will reach the Þingvellir viewpoint, providing a perfect spot to admire the natural beauty of the park. Keep an eye out for the Njálsbúð archaeological site and the Hakid parking area, both located nearby but off the main trail.

Before heading back, make sure to visit the Kaffi- og veitingaaðstað Þjóðgarðsins á Þingvöllum for a refreshment break. Ensure you have enough water and snacks for the hike, as well as proper hiking gear and a fully charged phone for emergencies.
