Welcome to the hiking route to Prato ai Fiori-Cima Monte Calvi. This route offers a challenging trek through the beautiful landscape of the area.
Starting off at Prato ai Fiori, you will first come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. As you continue your journey, about midway through the hike, you will find the Croce dei Bersaglieri di San Vincenzo memorial, a significant historic site. Nearby, there is a bench where you can take a moment to rest and enjoy the surroundings.
Further along the trail, around the 3.29 km mark, you will reach the peak of Monte Calvi, offering stunning panoramic views of the area. Close by, there is also a picnic site where you can relax and refuel before continuing your hike.
As you approach the 3.41 km mark, you will find the eastern viewpoint of Monte Calvi, providing another opportunity to take in the scenic beauty of the area. Additionally, there are two more peaks nearby, each offering a different perspective of the landscape.
It's important to note that there is a cave entrance, the Abisso di San Vincenzo, located off the trail at around 2.92 km. While not directly on the trail, it could be an interesting detour for more adventurous hikers.
With a total distance of 7.775 kilometers and an elevation gain of 385 meters, this hike is considered difficult. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. Also, check the weather forecast before you head out to ensure a safe and enjoyable hike.
