This hiking route takes you to the stunning Hochkünzelspitze peak, known for its breathtaking views and challenging terrain. With a total distance of 14.966 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1115 meters, this trail is classified as extremely difficult, so be prepared for a demanding but rewarding hike.
Starting at the parking area conveniently located at the trailhead, you will begin your journey towards the peak. Along the way, you will come across the historic wayside cross, situated at 5.37 kilometers from the start. Take a moment to appreciate the cultural significance of this landmark before continuing your ascent.
As you make your way further up the trail, you will encounter the impressive Giglturm peak at the 6.2-kilometer mark. Enjoy the panoramic views from this vantage point before pushing onward towards Hochkünzelspitze.
At the 5.14-kilometer mark, you will find the Biberacher Hütte alpine hut, a perfect spot to rest and refuel before tackling the remaining distance to the peak. It is recommended to bring plenty of water and snacks, as this hike can be quite strenuous.
