This challenging hiking route takes you through the stunning area of Strada al Col Bacchionero. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 8.056 kilometers and an elevation gain of 893 meters, making it quite difficult but incredibly rewarding for those up for the challenge.
As you start your journey, you'll pass by the Rifugio Vittoria, an alpine hut located just 0.45 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Further along the trail, at a distance of 1.87 kilometers from the start, you'll come across the Grotta Rosa peak, offering panoramic views of the area.
Midway through your hike, at around 4.03 kilometers from the start, you'll find a water source for refilling your water bottle and staying hydrated. It's important to bring plenty of water on this hike, as the terrain can be challenging and you'll be gaining quite a bit of elevation.
Towards the end of the trail, at 3.85 kilometers from the start, there's another drinking water point for you to replenish your supply. Just 0.17 kilometers away from the end of the trail, you'll also find the Rifugio Barga alpine hut, offering a cozy spot to rest and enjoy a meal before heading back.
Before embarking on this hike, make sure to check the weather forecast and come prepared with proper hiking gear. It's also recommended to start early in the day to allow enough time to complete the hike and return before it gets dark.
